Axis Optical.

Axis optical covers everything except the eye test. Just bring down your current prescription and we'll go through everything from what type of lenses you require, which frames are best suited, and adjustments for the fitting once the job is completed.

Axis Optical was originally set up in 1989, aiming to service the trade eyewear market. Things have certainly changed for us over the last 27 years, although we have maintained our determination to offer high quality eyewear and excellent customer service - just read our glowing reviews!

Over time a shop area was added to our manufacturing factory as we decided to trade directly with the public too. A few years down the line Axis Optical diversified again and began to offer a prescription glazing service for scuba diving masks - which are a rare find these days! Over time we added further products to our range, including safety eyewear, flying specs, snooker spectacles and specialist lenses which are used in the industrial sector - i.e. rolling mill machines sand lenses for operating machinery.

Owner Liam Ward joined Axis Optical in 2002 at the age of 16. After working at Axis Optical for 9 years the opportunity arose to buy into the business. Over the next few years he purchased all of Axis Optical and is proud to be the owner of such a friendly business with a reputation for 'good old fashioned' customer service!

“We thrive to offer the best products at the best possible price. We never sell a customer something they don’t need and there are no hidden extras. We’re always upfront about the cost so that the customer can see the savings they are making. All of our work is repeat or through word of mouth - we feel that’s the best kind - but it’s time spread the word about the services we offer”.

At Axis Optical we offer the same quality products as high street stored but without the price tag. Our staff have over 40 years combined experience in the manufacturing and fitting of spectacles so know exactly how to suit each clients needs and all work is completed in the on-site laboratory.

Trade customers are also welcome to contact Axis Optical to discuss their glazing needs and to get a price list.

There is a vast range of frames and lenses available to suit all budgets, with frame stock changing weekly to keep up with the latest fashions and demands including designer brands - view our image gallery to see examples of our stock.
